Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen

Violin legend Linda Lampenius and pop star Pete Parkkonen released their joint song Liekinheitin in January 2026, with which the duo entered this year’s New Music Contest. The song broke records and made history immediately after its release: it became the fastest song in the history of the Contest to reach one million views on YouTube. At the moment, Liekinheitin has collected over 6 million listens on streaming services and has received extensive international attention from both fans and the media.

In February, Lampenius and Parkkonen were chosen as Finland’s Eurovision representatives with an overwhelming vote. The duo won the contest with a whopping 570 points and will represent Finland at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. The duo’s song has held the top spot in the Eurovision betting statistics, has become the number one song on Finnish radio and has been the most listened to song in Finland on the Spotify Top 50 list for several weeks.

Linda Lampenius is known worldwide primarily as a classical violinist.
At the age of eight, she joined the Helsinki Junior Strings Orchestra and was already touring around the world as a teenager.
Later, Andrew Lloyd Webber personally invited her to perform as a soloist in his work in England, and her classical solo album, released in 1999, made her Finland’s best-selling classical artist.

In 2025, Lampenius made a spectacular return to the Finnish music scene, captivating the domestic audience with his virtuoso playing at the UMK finals. In spring 2025, the artist, who was signed to Universal Music, is currently writing new material, which is scheduled to be released later this year. Now, Lampenius is heading towards a new creative phase in his career and turning the page on a bold pop era – his own, fresh material is expected, combining his iconic violin and a modern pop sound.

Pete Parkkonen rose to national awareness in 2008 after participating in the third season of the Idols competition. However, this was only the beginning of a diverse career that has since established him as one of the top names in Finnish music. Parkkonen has released four successful albums during his career, the latest of which, PETE, crossed the platinum mark. The album includes the gold and platinum streaming hits Mitä mä teen (feat. JVG), Kohta sataa, Ei nyt and Myyty. His music smoothly combines elements of pop, R&B and funk, which makes his sound recognizable and distinctive. Parkkonen has also demonstrated his versatility in television entertainment programs. He has won both the Dancing with the Stars and Tähdet, tähdet competitions and made a strong impression on the Vain elämää program in the fall of 2022.
